EPUB is widely compatible and adjustable to various screen sizes, ideal for most e-readers and mobile devices. MOBI is specifically for Kindle devices.
I find the easiest method is to add the EPUB file to the open source program calibre You can then right click the file and select Edit file. The calibre editor will do the job of unpacking the file and the individual sections can then be edited. Youll find a knowledge of HTML and CSS will be useful.
Is EPUB or PDF better? EPUB is better than PDF for eBooks. PDFs may be better for printing and possibly graphically detailed eBooks such as childrens books or comic books, but EPUBs are designed to be reflowable, resizable, and reader-friendly.
