Lets talk about using Alma integrations to export records to your student information system, or SIS. Please note, importing records is covered in a separate video. A less commonly used integration option is exporting user records to your SIS, for example users that owe the library money or have a specific type of block placed on their record. This allows the SIS to block users from certain activities until they clear their account with the library. You can export user information from Alma to your SIS using an automated process which can either be scheduled or run manually. Heres how it works. First you need to export the user info from Alma into an XML file, then the files are placed in a predefined FTP location for your SIS to fetch. In Alma, go to the configuration menu. From here, select General, then click on Integration Profiles. From this screen, you will click on Add Integration Profile. Enter a code and a name for the user profile you are defining.
