To insert an image, use the image tag and specify the placement attribute to set line wrapping. You can also choose placement=inline if youre inserting an image in the line of your sentence (such as a button image) or if you want text to flow around your image.
Content created using DITA is in XML format, making it machine-readable. DITA content is componentized, arranged in topics and maps, and most commonly stored in a component content management system (CCMS).
Use the element to include artwork or images in a DITA topic. The element has an optional @placement attribute that indicates whether the included graphic or artwork is rendered inline (a button or icon) or on a separate line for a larger image.
DITA (Darwin Information Typing Architecture) is a standard methodology typically used by technical content experts to create, structure, and distribute content in a way that can be easily reused across multiple publications and platforms. DITA is built around the principle of inheritance. The DITA base content model displays that even the three base information types (concept, task, and reference) come from the topic proto information type and share a common structure having characteristics they inherit.
The Darwin Information Typing Architecture (DITA) specification defines a set of document types for authoring and organizing topic-oriented information, as well as a set of mechanisms for combining, extending, and constraining document types.
