Just in case, Ill sum up my above post: Insert a placeholder image in your ODT template. Position it the way you like the final Image to appear. Name the image. Use the Java-Code I posted above to substitute the placeholder by.
Click the location in your document where you want to insert a picture. On the Insert tab, click Pictures. Select the option you want to use for inserting pictures.
Go to Insert Picture on the main menu bar and then select either From file or Scan. and select the file from the Insert Picture dialog that opens. To see a preview of the picture, check Preview at the bottom of the Insert Picture dialog (Figure 126).
How to convert JPG to ODT Click inside the file drop area to upload JPG file or drag drop JPG file. Click on Convert button. Download link of result files will be available instantly after conversion. You can also send a link to the ODT file to your email address.

ODT is an open source word processing file extension associated with OpenOffice and StarOffice. It supports almost all the operating systems. ODT files can contain documents and it allows content format options. This XML based file can also contain image files in lossless compression.
1) Click in the LibreOffice document where you want the image to appear. 2) Choose Insert Image on the Menu bar or click the Insert Image icon on the Standard toolbar. 3) On the Insert Image dialog, navigate to the file to be inserted, and select it.
