With Microsoft 365 and OneDrive or SharePoint, multiple people can work together on a Word document, Excel spreadsheet, or PowerPoint presentation.
Inserting a document Click or tap where you want to insert the content of the existing document. Go to Insert and select the arrow next to Object . Select Text from File. Locate the file that you want and then double-click it. To add in the contents of additional Word documents, repeat the above steps as needed.
Select Sharing settings and choose your files sharing permissions. By default, whomever you share the file with will have editing access.
To use AutoText To use the text, go to Insert Quick Parts, AutoText, and choose the entry you want.
Place your cursor where you want to insert a selection from the Quick Parts Gallery. On the Insert tab, in the Text group, click Quick Parts, and then click the sentence, phrase, or other saved selection you want to reuse.
Co-edit a document After you share your document, you can work on that file at the same time with others. For the best experience, work together in Word for the web and see real-time changes. Under Share, you will see the names of who else is also editing the file.
Try it! Open the 2 documents. Select View View Side by Side. If you scroll up or down, the other scrolls as well. If you want them to scroll separately, select Synchronous Scrolling to turn it off.
Co-edit a document After your share your document, you can work on that file at the same time as others. Select where youd like to make changes and start editing. If other people are editing the document, youll see their changes real-time. Colored flags show you exactly where each person is working in the document.
