hello excellers welcome to my next video today iamp;#39;m going to show you how to remove personal information from your exile workbook this might be useful if you want to send your workbook to somebody outside your organization or you just want to remove who the author is and some other bits of information that excel automatically saves when you create and save your new workbook so i am working on excel 365. iamp;#39;ll take you through how to remove the information from that and then i will go through how to remove it from earlier versions of excel it differs slightly but essentially it removes the same information so the tool we use is document inspector and what we do is we hit the file and then info and inspect workbook and weamp;#39;re going to check for issues and excel actually gives a warning that before youamp;#39;re going to publish the file it does contain the authoramp;#39;s name and the absolute path and my name there is uh automatically added this workbook so letam

On the Excel menu, click Preferences. Select the Remove personal information from this file on save check box. Save the workbook.
Right-click and choose the Properties option in the context menu. Switch to the Details tab. Click on Remove Properties and Personal Information at the bottom of the dialog window. Select Remove the following properties from this file.
Document Inspector helps you find and remove hidden data and personal information in Excel workbooks. Important: We highly recommend that you use the Document Inspector on a copy of your original workbook, because it is not always possible to restore the data that the Document Inspector removes.
Try it! Open the document that you want to inspect for hidden data and personal information. Select File Info. Select Check for Issues Inspect Document. Select the types of content that you want to inspect, and then select Inspect. Review the results.
Click Inspect Document. Click Inspect. The Document Inspector will scan your file for personal information. Click Remove All if Document Inspector finds personal information in your file. Now click Close then save your document.
Please try to go to File in the upper left hand corner, then Options Trust Center Trust Center Settings Privacy Options Document Inspector and un-check the check box that says Document Properties and Personal Information, then hit OK.
Note: Excel does not remove personal information from shared workbooks. On the Excel menu, click Preferences. Under Sharing and Privacy, click Security . Select the Remove personal information from this file on save check box. Save the workbook. Notes: The following personal information is removed from your file:
