Hello and welcome to this session in this session I am going to go very basic step by step and we are going to learn XML schema or XSD from scratch Do not worry, If you have no prior knowledge on this topic, I will go step by step and you can also do a Hands-On along with me or you can just watch me and understand everything about XML schema So letamp;#39;s get started and let me first create a very simple XML here So I have created a element class and this is the start tag and an end tag, and now I have created a child element under class that is student We have a start and end tag here and under student we have first name last name and age So this is a very simple XML now an XML can be a well-formed XML and if a XML follows all the rules and syntax of a XML document that it has proper structure nesting start and end tags then Call it as a well-formed XML and we have already seen in the earlier sessions that you can use some online tools to validate your XML For example, here we are

xs:sequence PurposeThis element (the sequence particle) is used for expressing sequences in the content model of a complex type used for element definitions. This means that the child elements must appear in a given order. Parent element xs:choice , xs:complexType , xs:extension , xs:group , xs:sequence3 more rows
The Usage Guideline Editor allows the formalization of a field/element format as an XML Pattern. These XML patterns are Regular Expression such as defined by the W3C in the XML Schema standard. The full and official definition of this Regular Expression language, by W3C, can be found here.
The XML representation of schema components uses a vocabulary identified by the namespace name . For brevity, the text and examples in this specification use the prefix xs: to stand for this namespace; in practice, any prefix can be used. in the end xs or xsd are only prefixes.
XML schemas contain numerous design patterns, the most common of which are Russian Doll, Salami Slice, Venetian Blind, and Garden of Eden. The patterns vary ing to the number of their global elements or types. A global element or type, which is a child of the schema, contains a target namespace.
xs:include performs a straight inclusion of a schema within another schema that describes the same target namespace. It is possible, though, to include a schema that doesnt specify a target namespace.
The xs:pattern facet element is used to derive new simple types by specifying a regular expression against which values of the type are compared. It applies to all simple types. The schema regular-expression grammar is quite similar to that used in Perl 5.6 and later.
The most common types are: xs:string. xs:decimal. xs:integer. xs:boolean. xs:date. xs:time.
You can define regular expressions for input validation in separate XML files. Reference to these regular expressions can be used in multiple data types that are defined in the datatypes.
