When I create Excel tools, I always add an instruction sheet. But it can be a pain to create instructions, and itamp;#39;s double-pain if you write them in Excel. This is what happens to me all the time. I create a nice instruction sheet, take away the grid lines, put in light borders and start typing. All good here. An exact quote should be in quotation marks ( ), or if the quotation is 40 words or more, should be formatted as a block quotation. Then you put an In-Text Citation right after the quotation to show where the quote came from.
Narrative In-text Citation: List the authors last name only (no initials) and the year the information was published, like this: (Dodge, 2008). (Author, Date). IF you use a direct quote, add the page number to your citation, like this: (Dodge, 2008, p. 125). (Author, Date, page number)
In-text citations are inserted in the body of your research paper to briefly document the source of your information. In-text citations in MLA style follow the general format of authors last name followed by a page number enclosed in parentheses. Here is an example: Heres a direct quote (Smith 8).
How To Write a Paragraph Choose the main idea of the paragraph and write a topic sentence. Once you decide what the central focus of a particular paragraph will be about, introduce it with a topic sentence. Include supporting sentences. Improve flow and readability with transition sentences.
APA in-text citation style uses the authors last name and the year of publication, for example: (Field, 2005). For direct quotations, include the page number as well, for example: (Field, 2005, p. 14).
For the in-text citation, include the author and year of both the original and secondary sources. Add as cited in between the sources in the in-text citation. For example, (Smith, 2015, as cited in Jonson, 2019).
Include the authors name, the date, and the paragraph number, heading or section, or both in parentheses at the end of the sentence. Furthermore, the research (Smith, 2019, para. 4). Furthermore, the research (Smith, 2019, Emergencies section).
Using in-text citations They can appear within a sentence or at the end of a sentence before the full stop eg. . this week (Brown 2019). A page number is included for a direct quote. Place a colon directly after the year and separate multiple pages with a dash eg. (Dombrow 2014:155) or (Wardell 2018:32-33).
