Outside margins are the left margin on the left page and the right margin on the right page. Inside margins are in between the two facing pages. Documents with facing pages may also have a gutter, which is a part of the page that is hidden when the document is bound.
This can be done in either of two ways. The first method uses a negative indentation which can be set from the Paragraph Dialog settings in nay version of word or in the Page Layout Ribbon menu in Word 2007 and later. The second method utilizes a simple Text Box with no outline to display text inside the margin.
The dotted line forming border on this page is how the text boundaries (or page margins) will look in your Word Document. Page margins can be viewed in the Print Layout or Web Layout view.
Create a custom margin Select Layout Margins. Select Custom Margins. In Margins, use the Up and Down arrows to enter the values you want. Select OK when done.
Document Margins Click on the Page Layout tab. Click on Margins to see a drop-down menu. Make sure Normal is selected.
To show the Ruler at the top and left-hand side in a Word Document, click on the View tab. In the Show section (second from the left), check the box next to Ruler. The gray sections on the ruler represents the margins on the page.
Set document margins for a word-processing document in the toolbar, then click the Document tab at the top of the sidebar. In the Document Margins section, click the arrows or enter values in the fields next to Top, Bottom, Left, and Right.
3 Answers Open the PDF document you want to add the margin to in Preview.app. Go to File - Print. Go to Paper size - Manage Custom Sizes Add a custom page size by clicking on the + in the lower left. Fill in the following values: Press OK, and make sure the newly create size is selected under Paper size.
