sometimes in a document we want to have different margins for that document um and the way you access the margins for your document is you click on the page layout tab and you have this margins button if you click on the margins button it gives you different options you could choose the last custom setting that was set up you can choose normal which is by default every document that opens up is going to have a 1 in margin Top by bottom left and right you can have narrow moderate wide mirror the 2003 default format or you can customize your margins and what that means to have your margins is the white space thatamp;#39;s around your document that surrounds the text as you have typed uh itamp;#39;s that white area on your page if we decided that we wanted to set up custom margins we would come down to where it says custom margins and we would click and that opens up a dialog box if we wanted each of our margins to be changed to say 7 then Iamp;#39;m going to type in 7 beside of top or

Here are the steps: Open the document. Click Layout tab. Click Margins in the Page Setup group. Select a predefined option or click Custom Margins at the bottom. Enter your desired measurements in the Page Setup dialog box. Adjust other settings such as orientation and paper size.

You can show the margins on PC and Mac, but the mobile version of Word doesnt allow On the File tab, click Options. Click Advanced, and then select the Show text boundaries check box under Show document content. The page margins appear in your document as dotted lines.
