In the last class, we discussed using discrete wavelet transform in images and planned to cover how DWT coefficients are encoded to generate a bit stream. Due to time constraints, we will continue this in the current lecture on embedded zerotree wavelet encoding. We also looked at the parent-child relationship between coefficients in different subbands, noting that one coefficient in a coarser scale corresponds to four coefficients in the next level. This forms a tree structure as we move between resolutions.
