As I was preparing to record for this, I was testing something which I was pretty sure is not going to work, but then it worked. So make sure you stay for that. But first of all, let me just take you through the setup I have here. Weamp;#39;re going to see how we can insert an image in a cell and how we can return an image via formulas. So, I have a list of managers, the project theyamp;#39;re working on, and their picture. Iamp;#39;ve already inserted these in the cell. As you can see, the picture size is going to depend on the size of the cell. Add an image to a spreadsheet On your computer, open a spreadsheet in Google Sheets. Click the cell where you want to add an image. Click Insert. Image. Select to place your image in the cell or over the the cells. Cells with an image cannot also have text. Choose an image or take a snapshot. Click Open or Select.

The image file format must be PNG, JPG, or GIF. You cannot paste an image into a cell that already contains text. To put an image under text in Google Sheets, you can right-click the image and select Image options. Then, select the Text wrapping option and open the drop-down menu.
Heres how: Insert the desired image into your sheet using the Insert menu or the IMAGE function. Resize the image to cover the entire sheet area you want as the background. Lower the images opacity to make it more transparent and allow the sheet data to be visible on top.
You can upload an image from your computer or insert an image from Google Drive, OneDrive, Box, or Dropbox. The accepted file types for images in the Image widget are jpg, gif, or png. You may need to be the file owner on the corresponding online storage service in order to access and edit it.
Websites dont have access to your clipboard Desktop apps have access to your clipboard, which is why they can offer a Paste button. Websites (including web apps like Google Docs) do not have this accessthey need to get the access from your browser. This is a good thing from a security perspective.
You might be able to copy and paste with the right-click menu, but for security reasons, most browsers dont allow web apps (like Docs, Sheets, and Slides) to use your computers clipboard through menus.
