In Markdown, highlights are used to emphasize important words. Parts of the text appear in a yellow background after being inserted between two pairs of equal signs ( == ). Note: This feature is not offered in all markdown processors. Use the HTML tag as an alternate way to highlight text.
Click the Shapes button, then click the Highlight button. Drag the highlight where you want. To resize it, use the blue handles.

Select the text you wish to emphasize. Navigate to the Format menu at the top of your screen. Choose Fonts Show Colors. Select a color that will make your text stand out.
To bold text, add two asterisks or underscores before and after a word or phrase. To bold the middle of a word for emphasis, add two asterisks without spaces around the letters. I just love **bold text**.

Many Markdown processors support syntax highlighting for fenced code blocks. This feature allows you to add color highlighting for whatever language your code was written in. In Markdown, any text inserted between the two equal symbols (==) appears as the text highlighted in yellow at the output. The two equal symbols should appear at the beginning and at the end.
