Key frame - in terms of video encoding, its a frame that can be decoded independently from other frames. So actually it is a synonym of I-frame.
P frames are predicted frames. They depend only on the previous I or P frame. B frames are bidirectional frames. They can depend on both the previous and the next I or P frames.
is used to create a layout (frame) on a page which might contain rows and columns, while, is inline frame, which is used to show any webpage on our web page.
These MPEG standards include three kinds of frames: 1) intra picture frames (I-frames); 2) forward-predicted frames (P-frames); 3) bidirectional-predicted frames (B-frames). A video stream or recording will always start with an I-frame and will typically contain reg- ular I-frames throughout the stream.
An I‑frame (Intra-coded picture) is a complete image, like a JPG or BMP image file. A P‑frame (Predicted picture) holds only the changes in the image from a previous frame. For example, in a scene where a car moves across a stationary background, only the cars movements need to be encoded.
A P-frame, which stands for Predicted frame, is a type of video frame that is compressed relative to the previous, or anchor frame, both parts of inter-frame compression. P-frames predict the changes that will occur in the video data relative to the anchor frame to compress the frame further.
An IDR-frame is even more of a clean slate than an I-frame, because it practically says restart here to the decoder. An I-frame, by contrast, only carries enough context to be able to decode itself; it doesnt signal anything about what came before or what might come after.
B-frames are a unique type of frame used in video codecs. They are found in video compression formats like H. 264/AVC, HEVC, and AV1. You can think of them as helping to define the intermediate state of frames in a sequence. They contribute a lot to reducing the size of video files.
