With the @font-face rule, web designers do not have to use one of the web-safe fonts anymore. In the @font-face rule you must first define a name for the font (e.g. myFirstFont), and then point to the font file.
The CSS @font-face Rule When you have found/bought the font you wish to use, just include the font file on your web server, and it will be automatically downloaded to the user when needed. Your own fonts are defined within the CSS @font-face rule.
You can add fonts from within InDesign (2019 version and above) using docHub Fonts. To a font file in Windows, right-click the font file and click . Double-click a font file on Mac to open it in Font Book. Then click .
The HTML face Attribute is used to specify the font family of the text inside element. Using the tag for styling is outdated. Modern web design recommends using CSS instead of tag. Note: The face attribute is not supported by HTML5.
The simplest way to think of variable fonts is to imagine a slider (actually called an axis), with the lightest weight (usually called something like Thin or ExtraLight) at one end, regular in the middle, and the heaviest weight (usually called something like ExtraBold or Black) at the other.
By allowing authors to provide their own fonts, @font-face makes it possible to design content without being limited to the so-called web-safe fonts (that is, the fonts which are so common that theyre considered to be universally available).
The fontFace function allows you to pass an array of font-face rules that may contain different rules but treat them as if they are from one font family.
@font-face is a CSS rule that allows you to input your own font to appear on a website even when the particular font is not installed on the visitors computer.
