The @font-face CSS rule explained below is the most common approach for adding custom fonts to a website. Step 1: Download the font. Step 2: Create a WebFont Kit for cross-browsing. Step 3: Upload the font files to your website. Step 4: Update and upload your CSS file. Step 5: Use the custom font in your CSS declarations.
DocBook files are used to prepare output files in a wide variety of formats. Nearly always, this is accomplished using DocBook XSL stylesheets. These are XSLT stylesheets that transform DocBook documents into a number of formats (HTML, XSL-FO for later conversion into PDF, etc.).
Browsers do not have fonts themselves. It is not up to the browser to decide what those system fonts are. The default fonts in all browsers are Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, Arial, and sans-serif. All computer systems have these by default, pre-installed with the operating system.
All you have to do it copy and paste a line or two of code from the font service directly into your HTML document, and then use the font-family CSS property to apply the font to different elements of your website. For example, Open Sans is available from all three of the font services mentioned above.
They come from an included source so every user will be able to see the defined font. These fonts are downloaded by the browser while rendering the web page, and then applied to the text.
Once a desktop font is installed it will always remain on your machine. Web fonts are used online and are embedded in websites. They are transferred/downloaded by your browser every time you visit a website. The most common desktop font formats are TTF (True Type Fonts) and OTF (Open Type Fonts).
