Then you know that OSHA and ASME have some sort of standard or regulation, for pretty much every piece of equipment in your shop. And letamp;#39;s face it, these regulations can be complicated, and in some cases pretty boring. That can make it difficult to keep your facility and your equipment compliant with all the sanctioning bodies, and you certainly donamp;#39;t want a fine from OSHA, or worse, an injury due to equipment failure in your shop. But donamp;#39;t worry, weamp;#39;re here to clear up any confusion, and to make your life easier. This $250-$300 widely applies to standard dry van and flatbed freight shipments. However, for heavy haul or more complex shipments where a drivers time and the equipment used is more specialized (leading to higher demand) layover fees range from $500-$1,000 per day.
Accessorial charges in transportation are fees levied by freight transportation carriers for services that go beyond standard pick-up and delivery. Accessorial charges or accessorial fees are usually applied when there is a need for additional labor, equipment, time, or fuel.
2. Reconsignment. Reconsignment is when a shipment destination is changed after the freight has been picked up by the carrier. This is typically a $50 to $75 charge by the carrier, plus any out-of-route miles.
Redelivery fees: If the initial delivery attempt is unsuccessful, carriers may impose redelivery fees to cover the cost of making another delivery attempt. Liftgate fees: Liftgate fees are applied when a truck without a liftgate is used to deliver goods that require a liftgate for loading or unloading.
Redelivery charges occurs when the carrier attempts to deliver the freight, but is not able to successfully deliver. Failed delivery attempts are usually due to the location either being closed, requiring a delivery appointment, or needing special equipment that was not quoted for (such as a liftgate or smaller truck).
USPS does not charge a fee for redelivery. To learn more about mail fraud and how to report it, see Mail Fraud.
