In this video, Katie Sanouris from CNRS Wealth Management explains how to fill out Form W-9. If you receive a W-9 form, it's recommended to use the paper version. Alternatively, you can find the form on the IRS website by searching for "W-9." The form is a one-page document with additional instruction pages and is available as a fillable PDF. The W-9 is commonly used by sole proprietors, small business owners, independent contractors, and freelancers to provide personal information and their Employer Identification Number (EIN) to the companies they work for. This information is later used to fill out Form 1099, which is sent to the address provided on the W-9.
