By default, Excel uses the list separator defined under regional settings in Control Panel. The US English version of Excel uses a comma (,) for list separator by default, while other international versions may use a semicolon (;). Note: Excel automatically translates the separator in many cases.
Determine if Use system separators is selected in Excel options. From the File menu, select Options. Select Advanced. In the Editing options group determine if Use system separators is unselected.
Click Excel Options, to the lower right. Click the Advanced option. Uncheck the Use system separators checkbox. Next, enter a period for the Decimal separator and a comma for the Thousands separator then click OK.
Seperate two values in different coloums by using commas (,). For example, to represent the values 10, 20, 30, and 40, you enter {10,20,30,40}. In excel formula, a comma means a separator between the input parts of your formula. It is commonly used in all formulas that you used in the software.
Re: EXCEL DOES NOT RECOGNIZE NUMBER WITH COMMAS FOR FORMULAS Change the decimal separator for Excel only: Select File Options. Select Advanced in the navigation pane on the left. Clear the check box Use system separators and change the decimal separator to a comma and the thousands separator to a point.
We can use accounting Excel format in the Number format ribbon, select the amount cell, click on ribbon home, and select the Comma Style from the Number format column. Once we click on the Comma Style, it will provide the comma-separated format value.
Answer: In Microsoft Windows, click the Start button, and then click Control Panel. Open the dialog box for changing Regional and Language settings. In the dialog box, look for the List separator setting. (Location may vary based on Windows version. Enter the desired list separator. Click Apply and then click OK.
