Within Leica Captivate it is easily possible to import data from a variety of different formats into our jobs. This video looks at doing exactly that. It is the second of a series of videos on importing data and specifically focuses on the importing of points and lines from an XML file into a job. In order to begin, the first thing we need to do is ensure that we have a suitable data file available. Here we will use an existing XML file. XML files are clearly not as easy to read as the simple ASCII files that we have seen in other videos. However we do not need to worry, as Leica Captivate knows how to read the file for us. Therefore we can treat it just like an ASCII file and place it directly into the Data folder of one of our memory devices. Next we can go through the process of importing the data from that XML file into one of our jobs. We could start by creating a new job but instead we will use an existing one.
