[MUSIC] Stuart Kwan: Hi. Im Stuart Kwan and Im a Program Manager in the Azure Active Directory team and in this video, were going to take a quick look at web single sign-on. So in a previous discussion, we looked at how Alice at her browser was able to sign into the website by getting a from the identity provider using protocols like SAML or OpenID Connect or WS Federation. Now, one might ask if Alice has done all this, what if there was another website? Well call this another website and its at a different URL, say example2.com, and Alice points her browser at that website? As we mentioned before, shes not authenticated when she docHubes this website. The cookie that has been set on her browser is only being sent to example.com because it was set by example.com. So when she goes to example2.com, theres no cookie; theres no session. She needs to sign in again when she docHubes this website. If this website also trusts the identity provider, then the website will, as we saw before

Single-factor authentication is a process for securing access to a given system, such as a network or website, that identifies the party requesting access through only one category of credentials. The most common example of SFA is password-based authentication.
Authorization works through settings that are implemented and maintained by the organization. Authentication is the first step of a good identity and access management process. Authorization always takes place after authentication. Authentication is visible to and partially changeable by the user.
Workforce authentication is a vital security measure that helps organizations identify and protect their employees, contractors, and vendors. It ensures that only authorized personnel can access sensitive data and resources, both online and offline.
Type 1 Something You Know includes passwords, PINs, combinations, code words, or secret handshakes. Anything that you can remember and then type, say, do, perform, or otherwise recall when needed falls into this category.
Here are the five main authentication factor categories and how they work: Knowledge factors. Knowledge factors require the user to provide data or information before accessing a secured system. Possession factors. Inherence factors. Location factors. Behavior factors.
Single-factor Authentication (SFA) With SFA, users are only required to provide one piece of verifiable information to authenticate. This information might be anything from a knowledge factor, such as a password, to a biometric factor, such as a fingerprint. Note that SFA is not necessarily less secure than 2FA or MFA.
Authenticate First is a third-party service that uses pictures of luxury handbags, clothes and shoes, jewelry, watches, and accessories to verify an items authenticity before you list it to your online marketplaces.
As its name suggests, 3FA goes one step further than 2 Factor Authentication (2FA) by including a biometric element in the identification mix. 3FA combines something you know (your password) with something you have (your mobile phone) and something you are (your fingerprint) to help stop fraudsters in their tracks.
