[Applause] hi I am ayushi a technical account manager here at the AWS office in Seattle today Iamp;#39;m going to show you how to share an Amazon machine image either with another account within your organization or with the AWS support team for offline troubleshooting letamp;#39;s get started after logging into the AWS Management console navigate to the Amazon elastic compute Cloud console navigate to Amis in the left panel here you can see all the Amis that you own in your account select the Ami that you want to share with another AWS account then choose actions choose edit Ami permissions here you can edit the permission of the Ami and you can share it with another AWS account Iamp;#39;ll select this checkbox because I also want to give the permission to create the volumes from the snapshot thatamp;#39;s associated with the instance please note you donamp;#39;t need to share the Amazon elastic blog store snapshots that an Ami references to be able to share that

What are the two types of AMI?

Amazon Machine Images (AWS AMI) offers two types of virtualization: Paravirtual (PV) and Hardware Virtual Machine (HVM). Each solution offers its own advantages.

What is the difference between AMI and EC2 image builder?

An Amazon Machine Image (AMI) is the basic unit of deployment in Amazon EC2, and is one of the types of images you can create with Image Builder. An AMI is a pre-configured virtual machine image that contains the operating system (OS) and preinstalled software to deploy EC2 instances.

Can AMI be shared across accounts?

Resolution. If you know the account IDs of the AWS accounts that you want to share the AMI with, follow the instructions at Share an AMI with specific AWS accounts. To copy the shared AMI, see Cross-account copying. Note: Sharing an AMI from different Regions isnt available.

An Amazon Machine Image (AMI) is used to create virtual servers (Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud or EC2 instances) in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment. Different types of instances can be launched from a single AMI to support the hardware of the host computer used for the instance.

How many types of AMI are there?

Based on storage, AMIs are categorized as either of the following two types namely: EBS-backed instances: In this case, the root device for an AWS instance launched using AMI is an Amazon EBS volume that has been created from Amazon EBS.

What is the difference between EC2 and AMI?

The EC2 is used for creating the virtual server instance. The AMI is the EC2 virtual machines image. ECS provides container services such as docker and the AWS lambda is used to run the code without a server.
