Use your computer and/or phone to connect virtually to one or two witnesses. If your form requires two witnesses, they do not need to be together, and they do not need to be able to see and hear each other. Each witness must be able to see and hear you. If you do not know them personally, show them your photo ID.
Adding a witness to the eSignature process is accomplished using the eSignature Package Wizard, and involves adding a duplicate recipient email address to the envelope for the signer whose company requires a witness, as well as inserting a signature field for the witness in the contract document.
In order to witness a signature virtually, these key factors should be in place: The signing needs to be conducted through an audio visual link. The witness must be able to see the signee sign the document. A statement confirming the signing of the document met all legal obligations must be validated by the witness.
If the Subject uses a digital signature, is a Witness signature required? No witness signature is required; however, a digital or manual signature is required in the Acceptance block.
Set Up Witnessed Signing for a Recipient Start a new envelope as described in Start an Envelope, and add documents as usual. Select the Add Recipient drop down and choose Add Witness Group. Enter the signers name and email address in the Witness Group recipients list.
If it is considered safe to do so, the typed statement should be emailed or posted to the witness with instructions to: review the contents of the statement; make any amendments or corrections; and. place their electronic or wet signature under the statement of truth to confirm the contents are accurate and true.
