There are five basic classifications of typefaces: serif, sans serif, script, monospaced, and display. As a general rule, serif and sans serif typefaces are used for either body copy or headlines (including titles, logos, etc.), while script and display typefaces are only used for headlines.
Public Sans It is a strong, neutral, principles-driven typeface for text or display based on a traditional American form. (The Franklin form is most noticeable in the two-story design of the g character.) It uses metrics similar to common system fonts for smoother progressive enhancement.
When its possible, its better to credit typefaces used in your documents, publications, books, posters, websites. Along your signature in the colophon, it add value to your own work.
The four most common ways are to credit either 1) only the studio/company, 2) only the name of the main designer, 3) inconsistently across media, or 4) as part of the general description. Other disciplines (e.g. printer, photographer, illustrator) are more often outlined rather than parts of the type design process.
While typeface designs themselves are not protected, the computer software that enables the use of fonts is eligible for copyright protection. This includes the font files (e.g., TrueType or OpenType files) and any software code associated with font rendering and hinting.
Choose easy-to-read fonts. Which typography is the most suitable for a presentation? Limit the number of typographies selected. Avoid using similar fonts. Create a visual hierarchy. Be careful when choosing colors. Combine different text weights. Maintain harmony with the design, theme, and audience.
