Hello. Iamp;#39;m Kevin from Kitronik and in this video Iamp;#39;m going to explain how to clean and maintain your soldering iron. So here we have a soldering iron and before we start soldering we want to make sure that the tip is nice and clean and shiny so that it will accept solder. We call this tinning. So Iamp;#39;m going to start off by wiping my soldering iron tip through this damp sponge to remove any excess solder and dirt or carbonated material. Iamp;#39;m then going to run some solder onto the tip we call this tinning, and wipe away the excess. We can see itamp;#39;s already starting to look quite shiny. Now if we had a tip that was very black and we found it hard to get the black material away we can use this which is called tip tinner and cleaner. This helps remove this dark black material. So if we run the soldering iron through this and then wipe it through the sponge it helps remove any of this black material. You can see itamp;#39;s already starting to come off r
