Are you mildly curious about the differences between common image formats like PNG and JPEG or even the dreaded WebP format? Or maybe youamp;#39;re wondering if thereamp;#39;s a difference between the .jpeg and .jpg file extension. And maybe youamp;#39;re wondering about animated PNGs. Did you even know that, or did you only think GIFs could be animated? Well buckle up because the differences are more interesting than you may think. But you can relax. Iamp;#39;m going to go over the major points first and then gradually build up to some of the more complicated stuff. We can start off with the big two formats PNG and JPEG, which Iamp;#39;m going to focus on because they are by far the most common. But I can also touch on other formats like TIFF and also WebP, which you may not be familiar with but probably come across every day on the web. We can start off with the differences between PNG and JPEG and there are three major main differences in my opinion. And I would say that PNG is

By default all recognized fields in the TIFF image file directory (IFD) are loaded into the native image metadata object. Which fields are loaded may be controlled by setting which TIFF tags the reader is allowed to recognize, whether to read fields with unrecognized tags, and whether to ignore all metadata.
TIFF is best for any raster images that you intend to edit and is relied on to preserve quality.
Do TIFFs keep RAW data? No. While TIFF is a lossless format, it only stores the processed image. Thats why it has less post-processing flexibility than a RAW file.
How to remove metadata from TIFF Open this GroupDocs. Click inside the file drop area to upload a TIFF file or drag drop a TIFF file. Choose the metadata property to delete from your TIFF, select it and click remove icon. Click on Save then on Download button to download the updated TIFF file.
If youre going to do heavy editing, its better to shoot in RAW. But if youre going to be sharing the file, then its a good idea to convert it to a TIFF. Does TIFF lose quality? The short answer is no, TIFF doesnt compress your images and you dont lose quality every time you open and re-save the file.
Manual Way to Remove Metadata from TIFF Files On Windows computer, right-click the TIFF file and choose Properties. Click Remove Properties and Personal Information at the bottom. A dialog will appear asking if you want to delete all properties or just a portion of them.
RAW doesnt compress or process image data, which means files in this format are larger. TIFF is a compression format that doesnt lose information, and its the largest of the three formats.
Like JPEGs, TIFFs are a raster graphic file, but this format uses lossless compression to retain image data. This means that TIFF files are generally large. They tend to take up a lot of drive space and can be impossible to send via email.
