Both vinegar and hydrogen peroxide can be effective for removing stains, but their effectiveness depends on the type of stain. Vinegar works well for stains caused by substances like coffee, tea, or juice, while hydrogen peroxide is more suitable for removing sweat, grass, and blood stains.
Douse the stain with white vinegar, then apply a paste made of equal parts baking soda and vinegar. If this doesnt work, immerse the item overnight in a bucket of water containing a few tablespoons of detergent and vinegar. Rinse and wash the following morning.
Use rubbing alcohol to remove lipstick, ink, and red wine stains. Place the garment down on a flat surface and tuck a paper towel inside the garment, right behind the stain. Soak a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol and blot the stain with it. If necessary, repeat the process inside the garment.
Sponge the stain with cool water or soak it in cool water for about 30 minutes. Pretreat with a prewash stain remover. Launder; if safe for the fabric, add chlorine bleach to the wash.
Mix one teaspoon of liquid hand dish washing detergent in two cups of cold water. Dip a white cloth or the brush in this solution and work from the outside edge of the stain toward the center to prevent spreading. Blot or lightly scrub the stain and blot with a dry paper towel to absorb the moisture.
Apply a thick coat of corn starch over the whole stain. Allow it to soak up the stain for about 15 minutes. Shake off the excess cornstarch. Rub any leftover stain with a paper towel dipped in white vinegar. Wash in the machine using the hottest water your garment can take.

Pretreating. Pretreating is used to ease the removal of small stains, especially those that are oily or greasy.
