hey guys welcome back to another video today im breaking down my biggest woodworking mistake ever and hopefully you can avoid the same problem i had thanks for watching so in this video im talking about that product right there thats general finishes are mr seal satin so i did a lot of research on this pro on on this product beforehand and talked it over with the with the client for this project and we decided um we wanted the durability of a urethane and the color that an oil based finish provides and thats exactly what this this is its an oil-based polyurethane wipe-on finish this ended up being the worst product that i could have used for this table you can see here i applied it first just wiping it on with a with a pad which i did some research on and was told that that would be a good way to do it if you go to armor seals website theres also a video of an older gentleman i dont know if hes the owner but he seems to know what hes doing but he uses that a similar pad and re

The great thing about a seal wiper is that they still allow a reciprocating ramrod to go through the inner bore of the seal. One of the most common uses of wiper seals is within hydraulic cylinders, where they scrape away the dirt and moisture thats found on the piston rods.
Wiper seals are often used for fluid containment and to prevent dirt from entering a reciprocating shaft mechanism. Wiper seals are typically used on hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders, as well as telescopic suspension forks for motorcycles and bicycles.
Positioned on the external side of the cylinder head, the primary purpose of the wiper seal is to prevent the retracting piston rod from introducing dust, debris and other abrasive contaminants into the hydraulic cylinder.
To prevent these contaminants from entering the cylinder assembly and hydraulic system, wiper seals (also known as scrapers, excluders or dust seals) are fitted on the external side of the cylinder head (fig.
A wiper ring is the piston ring with a tapered face located in the ring groove between the compression ring and the oil ring. The wiper ring is used to further seal the combustion chamber and to wipe the cylinder wall clean of excess oil. Combustion gases that pass by the compression ring are stopped by the wiper ring.
