yeah I see a lot of bills that come in the office that are less than a thousand dollars and its because contractors can get away with it when its less than a thousand dollars so they can charge 800 for a toilet when I just saw on the Home Depot floor that toilet went on sale for 150 bucks

Below are some common questions from our customers that may provide you with the answer you're looking for. If you can't find an answer to your question, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.

Thank you for your effort in doing up the proposal/quotation. We appreciate it. Unfortunately, our current budget does not allow us to hire your services at the proposed pricing. We are sorry that we cannot work together on this project.
Estimates, generally, must be professionally reasonable. A 10-20% overage might be considered reasonable, especially if the contractor discovered issues along the way that he couldnt have been aware of initially (for example, mold or past flooding).
If the quoted bid is too high, ask how the contractor can get the figure down, preferably during the bidding phase. They might know how to rethink the project to meet your budget. Certain materials, for example, can cost quite a bit more than others.
How to Convey Your Dissatisfaction to Your Contractor Speak up right away. You must tell your contractor early on that you dont like something. Maintain an understanding demeanor. You dont like the work and youre worried youll offend your contractor. Get changes to the project in writing (even if only by email).
Send an Email. You may feel uncomfortable telling a contractor that youve chosen another contractor on a phone call or in person. To make it less awkward, you can send an email or text message mentioning that youve decided to go with the kitchen estimate provided by a different company.
Stay Positive. You can soften the blow of a rejection email by adding kind words wherever you can. Compliment the contractors reputation, business, or whatever attracted you to them in the first place. Tell them that you received quotes from several great contractors, but you decided on another bidder.
We recommend 3 It should let you paint a picture of what the average price might be and whether or not one contractor is offering dramatically more or less.
The quote should include the scope of the project and cost estimate. In many cases, a contractor will come to your house to see the project in personfree of charge. Many contractors dont give quotes over the phone since its nearly impossible to provide a reasonable quote without fully assessing the project.
