In most cases, RPT stands for report. A file with a RPT file extension will likely contain some report data. RPT files are often created by some version of SAP Crystal Reports, though it may simply contain ASCII text data, or it may be created by some other company and contain some other proprietary report format.
Record selection is performed using DFSORT control statements, such as SORT and INCLUDE. The SORT command is used to select and sort records. The INCLUDE command is used to specify conditions required for records to appear in the report. An example of a record selection member is shown in Figure 1.
Now, open Excel, go to the Data tab on the Excel window and then choose From Text/CSV under Data Tools section. Select the Load to option to make Import Data table visible. Now the RPT file should be loaded in Excel and you can view it.
Select the field to summarize from the first drop down. Select a calculation option (sum, distinct count, maximum, etc) from the second drop down. Select which group level you would like to calculate the summary for or leave Grand Total to calculate a grand total for the whole report, in the third drop down. Click OK.

Right click on the report layout > Reports > Top N/Sort Group Expert > Choose Top N in the Dropdown that asks for the type of filtering/ sorting you wish to do > Set the Value of top N (5 in your case) > Uncheck the option that includes other records.
