hello everyone and welcome back to the nerd cave in this project today we are looking at a binary to hexadecimal and dna converter using the raspberry pi pico i made this pcb board for my computer science class when learning about the fundamentals of number systems using computers this pcb will serve as an excellent soldering practice i have made three different versions of the board depending on how the 16 by two character lcd is connected or if you are using through-hole leds or addressable leds if ordering the pcb is difficult you will be able to build this on a breadboard which i have done here before designing the pcb regarding a raspberry pi pico you will learn how to connect a 16x2 character lcd set up pins for input for the buttons and output for leds and get programming practice using micropython the learning board will convert an 8-bit number to dnary or hexadecimal this project allows you to set the bed high or low in an 8-bit number which will indicate through an led by tur

Since the binary system uses only two digits or bits and represents numbers using varying patterns of 1s and 0s, it is known as a base-2 system. Here, 1 refers to on or true, while 0 refers to off or false.
Therefore, the decimal number 1001 in binary can be represented as 1111101001.
For computers, 1 is true or on, and 0 is false or off. The concept of binary and bits are based on of Boolean Algebra. The binary number system is positional. So even though it only works with 1s and 0s, the position of those two digits can represent much more.
We know theres only two binary values, 0 and 1, but a system designer can designate either to represent on, and the other for off. I have worked with systems that do it both ways. However, the generally accepted convention is to use 0 to represent off, and 1 to represent on.
Binary (base-2) pi: 11.00100 10000 11111 10110 10101 00010 00100 00101 10100 01100 00100 01101 00110 00100 11000 11001 10001 01000 10111 00000 . . . Trinary (base-3) pi: 10.01021 10122 22010 21100 21111 10221 22222 01112 01212 12120 01211 00100 10122 20222 12012 01211 12101 21011 20022 01202 . . .
In fact, not a single naturally occurring math constant has been proved normal in even one number base, to the chagrin of mathematicians. While many constants are believed to be normal -- including pi, the square root of 2, and the natural logarithm of 2, often written log(2) -- there are no proofs.
But of course, its still just an approximationpi is irrational in base-2 just like it is in base-10and just about every other base that you try. How about some examples? In base-pi, the number 1 is just pi0 which is also 1 in base-10.
You need to factor in the usage of lowercase letters as well: a: 01100001. b: 01100010. c: 01100011. d: 01100100. e: 01100101. f: 01100110. g: 01100111. h: 01101000.
