You can do that with the find and replace tool: Open search and replace with Ctrl + H. Set search mode to regular expression. Enter ()* in find what field. Leave replace with field empty. Click replace all.
Empty XML Elements An element with no content is said to be empty. In XML, you can indicate an empty element like this: or you can use an empty tag, like this (this sort of element syntax is called self-closing): The two forms above produce identical results in an XML parser.
Remove a Text Node xml is loaded into xmlDoc. Set the variable x to be the first title element node. Set the variable y to be the text node to remove. Remove the element node by using the removeChild() method from the parent node.
In the XML Files explorer, right-click the XML file or XML element that you want to remove and click Delete.
Remove Characters From a String Using the replace() Method. The String replace() method replaces a character with a new character. You can remove a character from a string by providing the character(s) to replace as the first argument and an empty string as the second argument.
Resolution Make a copy of your XML file in case you need to start over. Open the xml file in any Text editor supporting Regular Expression Find/Replace feature. Open the Find/Replace edit window. Select the Regular Expression option. Find : [^;:()a-zA-Z0-9 =./
In this approach, we are using the replace() method with a regular expression to search for characters , , , and in the XML data and replace them with their respective XML entities (lt;, gt;, quot;, apos;, amp;). Example: The below example uses the replace() method to escape characters in XML.
