Page numbers can be used to automatically number each page in your document. They come in a wide range of number formats and can even be customized to suit your needs. Page numbers are usually placed in your documentamp;#39;s header or footerso before you get started, you might want to check out our separate Headers and Footers video. To begin, navigate to the Insert tab then click the Page Number command. Youamp;#39;ll find a few different options designed to help you with different types of documents. To add page numbers to an existing header or footer, use the Current Position command. Otherwise, choose one of these three options to create page numbers from scratch. No matter what you select, Word gives you several different numbering styles to choose from. All you have to do is click the one you want and it will be added to your document. Follow these steps to delete page numbers in Word manually: Open the header or footer. Double-click inside the area of the header or footer where the page number is located. Select the page number and press Delete Using your cursor, click and drag to highlight the page number. Close the header or footer.
Remove the page number from the first page Go to Insert Header Footer. Select Options on the right side, and then select Different First Page. Select Options again, and then select Remove Page Numbers.
If this is an ordinary page in a document you created in Docs, simply drag your cursor through the extra page and into the bottom of the page before it and press Backspace/Enter.
Click Breaks and select Next Page under section breaks. Select the header or footer on the second page. Click Link to Previous under the Header and Footer tab. Manually delete the page number from the first page.
Remove page numbers Go to Insert Page Number, and then choose Remove Page Numbers. If the Remove Page Numbers button isnt available or if some page numbers are still there, double-click in the header or footer, select the page number, and press Delete.

On the Layout tab, in the Page Setup group, click Line Numbers. Do one of the following: To remove line numbers from the entire document or section, click None. To remove line numbers from a single paragraph, click Suppress for Current Paragraph.
