Deleting a file Browse to the file in your repository that you want to delete. In the top-right corner, select the dropdown menu, then click Delete file. In the Commit message field, type a short, meaningful commit message that describes the change you made to the file.
Use the purge command. The acr purge container command deletes images by tag in a repository that match a name filter and that are older than a specified duration. By default, only tag references are deleted, not the underlying manifests and layer data. The command has an option to also delete manifests.
To accomplish this, run the docker stop command and pass the container ID as the argument. Next, remove the container using the docker rm command. The output of both commands prints out the container ID to the terminal. Once you have successfully removed the container, proceed and remove the Docker image.
Removing Docker Images The -a flag can be helpful in identifying images that can be pruned to save disk space. When used with the docker rmi command, the -f or --force flag can also be used to remove images with no tags.
Deleting a repository On GitHub.com, navigate to the main page of the repository. Under your repository name, click Settings. On the General settings page (which is selected by default), scroll down to the Danger Zone section and click Delete this repository. Click I want to delete this repository.
Clean up images in Container Registry Go to the Cloud Storage page in the Google Cloud console. Select the storage bucket to delete. In the bucket names, PROJECT-ID is your Google Cloud project ID. Click Delete. A confirmation dialog box appears. To confirm deletion, enter the bucket name and then click Delete.
Deleting by tag shouldnt be confused with deleting a tag (untagging). You can delete a tag with the Azure CLI command az acr repository untag. No space is freed when you untag an image because its manifest and layer data remain in the registry. Only the tag reference itself is deleted.
On the Repositories page, choose the repository that contains the image to delete. On the Repositories: repositoryname page, select the box to the left of the image to delete and choose Delete. In the Delete image(s) dialog box, verify that the selected images should be deleted and choose Delete.
