Remove parts of an image with the Eraser Tool Select the Eraser Tool (E) . Use the tool options bar to customize tool settings, like Size and Hardness, to get the effect you want. Drag over the parts of the image you want to erase.
With an image either placed ( File Place) or pasted into Illustrator, you can crop it using the Crop image feature. This is useful for cutting off parts of an image for fitting or to improve composition. Select the image to be cropped. Click Crop image in the Quick actions section of the Properties panel.
Hold the Shift key, and the images leading up to the mouse should highlight in blue. * Click to select the batch. Click the trash can icon at the top-right of the screen. Empty the trash.
- Select the Scissors tool from the Tools panel (or press the C key on your keyboard). - Click on the path or shape you want to cut. Illustrator will create an anchor point at that location. - Click on another point on the path to cut it.
How to Cut Out Part of a Shape in Illustrator? Step 1: Select the Eraser Tool or hold down Shift E on the keyboard. Step 2: Select the Scissors Tool from the Toolbar. Step 3: Bring the Scissors Tool to the path on the object and click on the point where youd like to have the object to start to split from.
To cut out an image in Illustrator, start by creating a path around the portion that you wish to cut. So select the Pen Tool (P) and start drawing that path. Once youre done, select the path along with your image, and go to Object Clipping Mask Make or use the Control-7 keyboard shortcut.
All of Illustrators tools work on the active selection, so before you can erase anything, you have to choose the parts of the image to erase. Hold down Shift while clicking on areas of the image to add to the selection, press Ctrl, and then click on an area to remove it from the selection.
