As you are doing this in ASP Web Forms, you should really use Session. Abandon(); to clear the session. As the name implies, this abandons the session and implicitly creates a new session for the user. You should do this in code behind.
What you can do is Invoke a Server side page from javascript and Clear the session there. Assumung inside the logout. aspx page load event, you are clearing the Session. You may need to update some part of your UI( Logged in user name, some liknks etc..)
The major difference is that if you call Session. Abandon(), SessionEnd will be fired (for InProc mode), and in the next request, SessionStart will be fired. Session. Clear( ) just clears the session data without killing it.
The code-behind class file is compiled so that it can be created and used as an object. This allows access to its properties, its methods, and its event handlers. For this to work, the . aspx page must specify to inherit from the code-behind base class.
When the Remove Session Button is clicked, DeleteSession Action method is executed which removes the Session object using its Key using the Remove method. Finally, the Action is redirected to the Index Action method. //Set value in Session object. //Delete the Session object.
To log out the user, we need to use the following SignOutAsync() method of the SignInManager class. The SignOutAsync() method in ASP.NET Core Identity is used to sign out the currently logged-in user by clearing the users cookies or s that are used for authentication.
To implement session timeout in an ASP.NET Core application, we must configure the session middleware and set the timeout period. The default session timeout is 20 minutes in ASP.NET Core, we can also override the timeout using IdleTimeout property.
The methods that can clear the session are Session. Clear(), Session. RemoveAll(), Session. Abandon().
