Step 3: Remove Highlighting If you need to remove highlighting, its easy to do. Simply click on the cell or cells you want to remove highlighting from and click the Fill color icon. Then, select No fill at the top. You can also use the Clear formatting option in the toolbar.
Select the text that you want to remove highlighting from or press Ctrl+A to select all of the text. Go to Home and select the arrow next to Text Highlight Color. Select No Color.
To remove any background colors, patterns, or fill effects from cells, just select the cells. Then click Home arrow next to Fill Color, and then pick No Fill.
Follow these steps to highlight text in Excel: Select text. To select text in an Excel document, first locate the cell that contains the text. Open the highlighting menu. Once you have selected your text, a small font menu appears above your cursor. Select a highlight color. Deselect the text and cell.
To clear all contents, formats, and comments that are contained in the selected cells, click Clear All. To clear only the formats that are applied to the selected cells, click Clear Formats. To clear only the contents in the selected cells, leaving any formats and comments in place, click Clear Contents.
Like a lot of useful actions in Excel, there is a keyboard shortcut for this. After highlighting the entire range, press ALT + ; and only the visible cells will be selected. Once the visible cells have been selected, you can now copy just those cells.
You can highlight an entire row by simply clicking on the letter of the row(s). Alternatively, use CTRL (Cmd) or Shift and Arrow Key to select the rows you want to remove. To remove all the rows you have highlighted, hold down the CTRL+- (minus on the main keyboard) hotkeys.
