Etching on glass, in general, can only be gotten rid of by grinding and polishing the glass, somewhat similar to sanding away a scratch in a board. In glasses, however, that is not going to work as the lenses are probably coated with some substance to prevent scratching and perhaps to filter the light to some extent.
There are a variety of methods that you can use to remove engraving, including sanding, polishing, and grinding. Knowing which method to use will depend on the type of material you are working with.
Depth varies, with some engravings easily modified or removed by sanding or additional laser treatments. Chemical Etching: Applies corrosive substances to etch designs into the metal. Results in detailed, shallow designs that can be removed more easily by polishing or light abrasion.
How to Remove Etching from Glass Use distilled white vinegar to remove spots from your glasses. Mix a small amount of toothpaste with baking soda and apply the paste to your glassware with your finger, a soft cloth, or a toothbrush.
To remove an engraving, a jeweler has to laser off the metal in the area of the inscription to level out the texture of the metal.
By grinding and polishing the etching can be removed . Bring home the flowers .
Once the engraving is lasered off, the ring will need to be polished to restore it to a smooth blank surface. While this procedure is fairly easy to do with metals such as sterling silver, gold, platinum, and stainless steel, this becomes much trickier with gold or silver plated items.
Yes! In fact, people asking to make changes to headstones is more common than you might think.
