everybody Im Gregory Brown and a few days ago I mentioned on Twitter that I was thinking about making some short videos about how to work with binary file formats and the response that was pretty positive so I figured Id start right away so this first video is about decoding binary file formats its a very basic video but I think it should be interesting to anyone who hasnt worked with binary file formats in Ruby before so here we go first I want to say that Im not an expert in this stuff Ive never actually studied it formally but that I do have a little bit of experience because Ive written some code that really depended on me processing binary file formats in particular pron the PDF generation library that I started and now is being run by a awesome core team it made it so that I had to work on PDF that also the TrueType font format and then for image support we needed to deal with PNG and JPEG and probably some other things that Im not remembering right now now on our team J
