hey so i saw this tweet by tobias he tweets about databases and heamp;#39;s talking about how you can create a unique index with a where condition in postgres and he gives like an example where this could be useful in a soft delete like functionality in your application so this index will only like be built on the rows that are not soft deleted and soft deletion means like we have this column if there is a value inside that column for a specific row that means this row is deleted or softly and this usually we put the date time when this row have been deleted and this works very nice if you have a soft delete functionality at the same time you need like if ideally if i soft deleted letamp;#39;s say articles and the slugs are unique if i serve deleted an article with the slug letamp;#39;s say i uh hi js sql developers letamp;#39;s say i have an article with this slug and itamp;#39;s not deleted so iamp;#39;m gonna say itamp;#39;s one which means itamp;#39;s active letamp;#39;s s

The DROP INDEX command is used to delete an index in a table. MS Access: DROP INDEX indexname ON tablename; SQL Server: DROP INDEX tablename.indexname; DB2/Oracle: DROP INDEX indexname; MySQL: ALTER TABLE tablename. DROP INDEX indexname;
To delete the index, you must roll over the data stream so a new write index is created. You can then use the delete index API to delete the previous write index.
We may also delete an index directly by editing indexes. conf, and removing the stanza of the index. Restart the indexer, then delete directories of the index.

To delete indexed data permanently from your disk, use the CLI clean command. This command completely deletes the data in one or all indexes, depending on whether you provide an argument.
From the edit view, select Search Navigation Configure Index. Click Clear index.
If you no longer need an index, you can use the delete index API operation to delete it.
To close all indices, use all or * . By default, you must explicitly name the indices you are closing. To specify indices to close with all , * , or other wildcard expressions, change the action. destructiverequiresname setting to false .
