next we want to talk about adjusting your feederhouse belt making the proper tension on the belt first thing you want to do is loosen this idler bolt lower the idler down the next thing you want to do is on the inside up here there are three three nuts that youamp;#39;ll need to loosen and then youamp;#39;ll use this turnbuckle to push the upper feederhouse variable-speed backwards thing you donamp;#39;t want to do is jump on the belt and get it loose and then raise the idler up because in effect what youamp;#39;re doing is reducing the contact on the torque drive and youamp;#39;re going to have more belt slipping so adjust it again loosen your idler loosen the three nuts on the inside in here use your turnbuckle to push the upper belt backwards and then raise your idler just to take the slop out of the belt now you know you have a properly tension when you either have an eighth inch shim gap in here or when the feederhouse has slowed all the way down it should be running about 52
