The I-9 form records each employees employment eligibility verification. In Canada, employers must ask for and record the SIN number of every employee. Employers must provide each employee with a statement of income that includes the SIN number.

If you made these types of changes, we recommend you attach to the Form I-9 a signed and dated written explanation for the changes.
