In most cases, we use void methods when we need to perform an operation with some kind of side effects. The most common use case of void methods is System. out. println which prints desired text to standard output.
The void type, in several programming languages derived from C and Algol68, is the return type of a function that returns normally, but does not provide a result value to its caller. Usually such functions are called for their side effects, such as performing some task or writing to their output parameters.
The void keyword specifies that a method should not have a return value.
A function that does not return a value is called a non-value returning function (or a void function). A void function will automatically return to the caller at the end of the function. No return statement is required.
A void function cannot return any values. But we can use the return statement. It indicates that the function is terminated. It increases the readability of code.
void (C++) When used as a function return type, the void keyword specifies that the function doesnt return a value. When used for a functions parameter list, void specifies that the function takes no parameters. When used in the declaration of a pointer, void specifies that the pointer is universal.

Void functions are mostly used in two classes of functions. The first is a function that prints information for the user to read. For example (for our purposes), the printf function is treated as a void function.
When to use Void or Value-Returning Functions: Void Function: when must return more than one value or modify any of the callers arguments. Void Function: when must perform I/O. Void Function: when in doubt, can recode any value-returning function as void function by adding additional outgoing parameter.
