Creating a trace file is useful when troubleshooting database-related issue. Run the MS SQL Server Management Studio. Go to Tools > SQL Server Profiler. Provide a name under Trace name. Use the “Standard (default)” template. Click Save to File. Provide the path and filename for the file to be saved.
A stack trace is a report that provides information about program subroutines. It is commonly used for certain kinds of debugging, where a stack trace can help software engineers figure out where a problem lies or how various subroutines work together during execution.
The trace command prints a symbolic stack traceback for any process or interrupt stack. When used on a postmortem memory image without options, trace prints the kernel stack that was present in the u-area of the user process that was executing at the time of the panic.
In new trace file, only 7 columns are important that are: the event type, event time, object type, packet id, packet type, packet size, and the energy.
The trace file is a text or XML file that records the steps of map execution. You can use the information in the trace file to diagnose invalid data or incorrect type definitions. Trace for general data. The trace file records map execution progress.
Historically, the kernel stack is two pages, which generally implies that it is 8KB on 32-bit architectures and 16KB on 64-bit architectures—this size is fixed and absolute. Each process receives its own stack. Also the kernel stack contains a pointer to the thread_info struct holding information about the thread.
In computing, a stack trace (also called stack backtrace or stack traceback) is a report of the active stack frames at a certain point in time during the execution of a program. When a program is run, memory is often dynamically allocated in two places; the stack and the heap.
Each process has a kernel stack (or more generally, each thread has its own stack) Just like there has to be a separate place for each process to hold its set of saved registers (in its process table entry), each process also needs its own kernel stack, to work as its execution stack when it is executing in the kernel.
For variable trace formats, the table lists the event the triggers the trace under the Event heading and the characters that start the trace under the Abbreviation heading. The last three columns list the possible flags, types, and values for the event under the Flag, Type, and Value headings.
The trace keeps up to 250 packets before a TCP RST packet is received.
