thank you for joining us this video is going to show the creation of a mechanical symbol and placement in a PCB we are going to create a mounting hole go to file and new instead of a new board we are going to create a mechanical symbol Im going to name the file mounting hole one browse and save in the standard PCB library click OK select the layout and pins select the pad stack you need Im going to choose hole 150 in the command window type X 0 0 to place the pad stack at the origin if you receive an error that the pin cannot be placed outside of the drawing extents you need to change origin go to setup design parameters and move the origin place a pad stack now that the pad stack is placed we are going to add keep outs first I will add a route keep out select shape and circular from the toolbar instead of board geometry choose a route keep out in the command line type X 0 0 to place at the origin for the size of the keep out you can either drag the circle or choose the correct size
