Voiding envelopes in cancels the signing process and signing request for any remaining signers and places a VOID watermark on the document(s). All recipients will receive a final notification that the envelope has been voided, and senders are required to enter a reason when voiding envelopes.
A voided check may be necessary to set up direct deposits, automated clearing house (ACH) transfers, or electronic bill payments. Voiding a check means it cant be used to make a payment or withdraw money from your checking account. The word void should be visible on both sides of a voided check.
From the Manage page, locate the in process envelope that you want to void. Click the drop-down arrow to show the actions menu and select Void. Enter a brief reason for voiding the document. This reason is included in the email notification sent to recipients, and is added to the envelope Details and History views.
Use a blue or black pen. Write VOID in large letters across the front of the check, or write VOID in smaller letters on the date line, payee line, amount line, and signature line, as well as in the amount box. Make a copy of the voided check for your records, noting the check number.
Voiding a document cancels all outstanding signing activities. Once you void a document, recipients can no longer view or sign it.
In most cases, a check should clear within one or two business days. There are a few cases in which a check might be held for longer, such as if its a large deposit amount or an international check. Make sure to review your banks policies for what to expect in terms of check hold times.
Documents that expire are automatically voided by . This means that they cannot be brought back, however you may view them in your Sent folder. To determine if voided envelopes were voided due to expiration or other reasons, you need to open the envelope to view the reason for voiding.
To void an envelope youve sent, follow these steps: Navigate to the Manage page in your eSignature account and locate and select the envelope you want to void. Click the drop-down arrow to show the actions menu and select Void. Add a brief reason for voiding the document. Confirm by clicking VOID.
