in this video Id like to show you the difference between a void in a non void method in terms of calling a method and in order to do that I created two methods ad V and add our ad V is a void method in ad r is a non void method add B takes two numbers adds it together and then prints out the sum of those numbers add our does something similar except for it adds the two numbers together and then returns the sum back to where the method was called lets examine these method calls a little bit closer to see if we can determine if theres a difference between calling a void and a non void method so Ive blurred out their implementation and Ive highlighted their calls inside of the main method you can see that math dot V is the void method and math that I had R is the return method you can also see that the void method is standing by itself or standing alone and the non void method add R is inside of programming statement lets focus on ad V our void method and then come back and focus o

In computer programming, when void is used as a function return type, it indicates that the function does not return a value. When void appears in a pointer declaration, it specifies that the pointer is universal. When used in a functions parameter list, void indicates that the function takes no parameters.
We say that a variable is void if its symbol has an unassigned value cell (see Symbol Components). Under Emacs Lisps default dynamic scoping rule (see Scoping Rules for Variable Bindings), the value cell stores the variables current (local or global) value.
A void is nothing but takes up space; null is nothing at all. In other words, you could measure a void but null offers nothing to measure. 4.1 Void is used to indicate that a function/method does not return any data type. Null indicates that a pointer variable is not pointing to any address.
When used as a function return type, the void keyword specifies that the function doesnt return a value. When used for a functions parameter list, void specifies that the function takes no parameters. When used in the declaration of a pointer, void specifies that the pointer is universal.
Void functions are created and used just like value-returning functions except they do not return a value after the function executes. In lieu of a data type, void functions use the keyword void. A void function performs a task, and then control returns back to the caller--but, it does not return a value.
When you include the return (0) statement, you are saying that the function returns a value of 0. This presents the compiler with a contradicting declaration and return. So, the compiler generates an error. Use return; instead of return(0); to exit a void function.
A pointer of type void * represents the address of an object, but not its type. For example, a memory allocation function void *malloc( sizet size); returns a pointer to void which can be casted to any data type.
The void keyword specifies that a method should not have a return value.
