You will be given two options, one that will say I wish to have my MCAT exam scored, and one that will say I wish to VOID my MCAT exam. If you void your MCAT exam, you will not get a score and medical schools will not see it on your record. It is as if you have never taken the test.
If you void your exam, it is basically the same thing as never having taken that test in the first place. Schools will not know you voided an exam. You will not be given a score nor receive a refund. Most test takers do not feel confident about their scores after they finish their exams.
After finishing every section on the MCAT, you are given the option to void your exam. If you choose to do so, then your exam will be wiped and there will be no record of taking it. This can be risky, as it may delay your medical school application and cause you to continue studying.
After taking your exam, you have the option to press VOID. What this means is that if you dont feel confident about your performance on the exam, you can make it so that its like you never took the exam. In other words, the test is not scored, and medical schools will not even know that you sat for the exam.
If youre taking your exam before the admission cycle commences, then voiding your MCAT is a plausible option. However, if youre in the middle of your application cycle, voiding can have detrimental effects on your success in matriculating into medical school.
If you do not want your MCAT to be scored, you can pick the VOID option. This means that you will not receive a score for your MCAT and you will never know how you did.
The only way to prevent scores from appearing in your MCAT testing history is to VOID your exam at the end of your testing session. If you VOID your test, it will not be scored at all, and your participation in that administration of the MCAT will not be reported to any schools at all.
