hi this is Brian Smith today is Friday February 27th and this is video number six and my daily Linux video series and today we have a quick and easy video Im just gonna show you how to comment multiple lines in the vim editor this is you know really handy for configuration files or scripts programming anything like that where you need to comment out multiple lines okay its very easy to do first thing you do is you go into them and you press escape to inter command mode and you hit control V on your keyboard and youll notice down here it says visual block and then were going to use either the arrow keys on the keyboard or the JK to select which lines you want to comment so well go down to here in this example and then you do an upper case I to go into the insert mode at the beginning of the line and then you type like whatever character you want to put to comment out so in this case well do a pound sign and then you just press escape and then as you can see it commented all thos
