if you need to download a file on click in html you can use the handy download attribute for any anchor element you can also provide a file name by giving it a value whatever value you give will be the name of the file thats downloaded you can also use blob and data urls to allow downloading files you generate for instance generating a csv from data in a table the only important restriction to know is you cannot use cross-origin urls but if that cross-domain url allows cross-domain fetching you can actually fetch the file and turn it into an object url and use that like in the code example above browser supports pretty great so i hope you find this handy
